How it all began

Concerning our work with the Ugandan Mission, it is a result of the Lord opening a door for me to go on a missionary preaching trip to the country of Albania with an Evangelist missionary named Larry Mosley in 2003. I received a burning desire to share the love of Jesus in foreign countries, which is encompassed in the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19 ...go therefore and teach all nations... It was following that experience that I was asked to go to Uganda, Africa with Pastor/Evangelist Ozzie Bloxsom through which I preached and taught the Word of God on five missionary tours.

The exposure to Uganda and its children touched my heart. The Love of God for the people and their condition spoke to me in such a divine way, as I come from the poorest of the poor in America, as the eighth of nine children whose father was a sharecropper.

It was my second tour of my Missionary Effort in Uganda that I met a young man with a Pastoral Anointing who was having church outside with about twenty-five people. The Lord spoke to my Spirit to help him by building a temporary structure to house the church which was assembling under a tree. In coming back home to Leighton, I shared with the Mt. Pleasant Church what I saw and what I believed God wanted us to do – build a temporary structure in Uganda. Our church was quick to fulfill the request, which was spoken in 2017. In just a short amount of time the temporary structure was out grown and it entered into my heart to build a permanent structure. In August of 2018, we began construction and in February of 2019 it was completed. In the process of it being built it once again came upon my heart that we needed to teach the people and children. This resulted in having school in the temporary structure and the church building. The church and school were opened on February 3, 2019.

The school had enrolled 120 students with five teachers. The school has grown each year in students and teachers adding on a class each year. In 2020, it grew to 170 students. In 2021, the school grew to 220 students. In 2022, 270; in 2023, 330 and in 2024, 376 students. Also in 2024, we graduated our first class called Primary Seven, which required a dormitory for them to stay on campus to prepare. As of February 2025, the school has grown to 425 students, fifteen teachers and 10 staff members. The staff assist the teachers, cut grass, cook and clean.
